Project Info

The plant will be Canada’s first large-scale electric vehicle battery manufacturing plant. Gresham Smith is designing a manufacturing facility for the production of pouch-type cells as well as a module and pack building. Production is expected to begin in 2024, and annual capacity at the plant is expected to be 45 gigawatt hours. The greenfield site occupies 220 acres on which more than four million square feet of world-class manufacturing spaces were erected. The largest structures are the Cell Building at 2.7 million SF, and the Module Building at 445,000 SF
